Meda was approached following successful delivery for CBRE clients, working collaboratively with their Buildings Project Management Team.

CBRE’s client, Statoil, had a growing need for a maintenance support base to handle the logistical support required for their offshore windfarm interests.

Our brief was to convert an existing quayside unit to accommodate sizeable, industrial plant and supplies with loading facilities to achieve efficient turn-around of maintenance vessels. In addition, maintenance crews needed airport lounge style accommodation that could deal with speedy shift changes as well as lengthy weather delays.

A key feature of this design was the need to screen and secure crews to an airport standard of check-in and out to assist in CDM-compliant protocols, avoid risk of contraband, smuggling and generally ensure the level of crew welfare that offshore-based working requires.

We completed the feasibility stage for CBRE to take to the Statoil board.
